The biggest change I’ve seen in my learners is their growing love for sports

I like seeing them active and trying new activities as much as when they learn some new tricks and techniques.

Nomnikelo Nqodi's experience

I have learned a lot of new skills and knowledge from the Premier Skills training programme. I learned how to be an approachable coach, so learners feel comfortable sharing their concerns with me. The training emphasised the importance of planning activities, staying committed, and multitasking effectively. I gained skills in teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving, as well as the ability to adapt and have a plan b ready.

I also developed greater respect for people of all ages, learned to value flexibility, and became more open to correction. This programme taught me to prioritise my learners’ futures, encourage their self-esteem, and bring joy to my community through sports and other opportunities.

The Premier Skills Physical Education training has transformed me into a more professional and committed coach. I’ve become better at planning, thinking critically, and giving others the chance to express themselves. It taught me to celebrate successes and take responsibility for my faults, focusing on improvement rather than blaming others. I’ve become more committed with a strong wish to see my learners succeed and achieve their dreams one day.

The biggest change I’ve seen in my learners is their growing love for sports. They are more active during PE, with less absenteeism and fewer disagreements during breaks because they’re engaged in activities and trying new techniques. They’ve started participating in local sports like soccer, netball, and rugby. As a dedicated teacher, I’m proud to guide them toward a brighter future.

The programme has greatly increased my confidence. I used to be a shy person, but now I’ve made many friends through it. I’ve also gained a lot of knowledge about different sports codes and had the opportunity to connect with people from other departments.
