Tottenham are famous for their success in the FA Cup, winning the competition eight times, but their most recent trophy was the League Cup, in 2009. In 1963, they became the first British club to win a European Competition (the European Cup Winners’ Cup), and since then have won the UEFA Cup (now the Europa League) twice. Tottenham have always been famous for playing exciting, attacking football. For the last few years, Tottenham have continued that tradition, with Premier League stars such as Dele Alli and Son Heung-min, playing some great football and Harry Kane, with over 100 Premier League goals, shooting Spurs to success.
"If you don’t win anything, you have had a bad season’’ - Bill Nicholson, ex-Tottenham Manager.

Son Heung-min is one of Tottenham's star players.

White Hart Lane is the name of Tottenham Hotspur's old stadium.
Audere est Facere
This is Spurs' motto. It means To Dare Is to Do.
Tottenham's name comes from the name of a 14th-century man from Northumberland, Sir Harry Hotspur (thanks for the correction MonkeyHeaven), who featured in one of Shakespeare’s plays, Henry the Fourth. He was a soldier, and a very fierce fighter and his descendants owned land in the Tottenham Marshes which became Tottenham. So, the team from Tottenham adopted this name and became Tottenham Hotspur, which is shortened to ‘Spurs’.
Key player: Son Heung-min
